I love this documentary. I've watched a bunch of different car making documentaries but this hit different for some reason. Just so impressive. I think I'm a lot more ok with Porsche pricing now. Are the options and margins still crazy compared to other makes? Yes. But I feel like that's slightly more justified by just how much attention they pay across every aspect of production from the car to the people working on it.

Voice-over guy: “Porsh”

Ugh... seriously?

Yeah might have preferred a German speaking English or with subtitles

Just say the word right, man! I blame the producer/engineer for not correcting him/them right at the beginning. Someone may have noticed at some point, but by then they were so far along, they weren’t about to go back and redo it all.

They manage to pronounce Taycan correctly, but Porsche wrong...

Like a German saying c hev-row-LET.

I like how all you care about is pronunciation in that video lol

I know, I’m sorry. It’s just bugs me to no end. Consider how much time and money they spent to make this video, and they get the simplest, easiest thing wrong. Would be like someone on the Taycan line placing one piece upside-down that necessitated an entire tear-down at some point in the assembly.

It makes it even worse when they call him “Ferdinand Porsh”...

I wonder if the translator got it wrong first, and then the director decided to just go with it for the voice-over guy as well.

Porsche’s attention to detail and testing is incredibly inspiring, though. I look forward to owning one some day.

The German luxury automaker reportedly spent about $770 million on the factory where it is building the new line of Taycan electric sports cars, and Porsche has committed to spending $6.6 billion developing electric vehicles through 2022.

This next decade will be very interesting. Germany will not allow registration of new ICE cars starting in 2030. Does that mean Porsche/Mercedes/BMW/Audi will stop building gasoline & diesel engines, or will they continue, but just for other markets? Seems like they’ll have to, just for their business to survive, unless we really see a wholesale global shift to EVs in the next 5-10 years.

Yeah seeing that was really cool. They mispronounced some very simple things though which made me wince but either way the visuals and information was awesome

Yes, it’s a great video. Like an otherwise stunningly beautiful woman who’s missing a tooth. LOL
